Its natural elegance, classic Caribbean charm and Gauguin-inspired Tahitian-style set this all-inclusive haven apart from the rest. Galley Bay's intimate guest rooms are nestled amidst 40 secluded acres of beachfront tropical gardens, a lagoon and bird sanctuary, and a very private 3/4-mile white-sand beach. All guests are welcomed with consummate Antiguan hospitality and whisked away from the historical sugar mill reception by golf cart to an astonishing cottage or beachfront accommodations. More than three-quarters of the accommodations lie directly on the white sand beach; the remainder tucked away in the gardens and boasting their own private splash pools. Room amenities include air-conditioning, terra-cotta tiled floors, louvered windows, ceiling fans, mini-refrigerators, hairdryers, coffee machines, bathrobes, in-room safes, bathrooms and showers, king-size bed, telephone, and TV. Children Policy: Children under 16 years of age are not accepted, except Christmas & New Year's. Gauguin Cottage - Situated on the edge of a bird sanctuary lagoon, starting just 50 yards from the beach, each romantic cottage consists of two separate thatched rondovals--one for sleeping, the other a bath/dressing room--connected by a sheltered breezeway. The plunge pools are either rectangular or free-form in shape, each one concealed from its neighbor by a combination of the lush tropical vegetation and screens made from natural Spanish heather. Flanked by paved sun decks, they measure either 7 ft by 9 ft. or 7 ft. by 13 ft. and are either step-up or level to the ground. Maximum Occupancy: 2 persons. Superior Beachfront - Elegant rooms in one-story buildings with vaulted ceilings and private patio located directly on 3/4 mile white sand beach. Maximum Occupancy: 2 persons. Deluxe Beachfront - These rooms are well appointed & spacious, larger than the Superior Beachfront room with walk-in closets, large beach patios (with beach shower) and modern, designer bathrooms. Walk directly onto the beach from the lower level rooms. Second floor rooms have private balconies. Maximum Occupancy: 3 persons (3rd person in a roll-away). Premium Beachfront Suite - Our largest and most luxurious accommodations feature a bedroom and sunken living room with wet bar overlooking a spectacular oceanview. Galley Bay offers the following restaurants: Sea Grape Restaurant - Spacious open air restaurant right on the ocean where you will be treated to exotic flavors of the Caribbean with award-winning sumptuous a la carte dishes created by a master chef. Breakfast runs from 7am-10am, lunch from 12pm-2pm, and dinner from 7pm-10pm. Gauguin Restaurant - Smaller more intimate venue with casual, grill-type fare and ocean views as far as the eye can see. Same day reservations are necessary for dinner. Lunch runs from 12pm-3pm, dinner from 6:45pm-8:30pm. Dress Code: In the restaurants, shoes are worn and bathing suites are covered. After 6:30pm, men wear shirts w/ collars and short or long sleeves (no T-shirts or tank tops) & slacks (no shorts or jeans) and women wear dresses, skirts, slacks, culottes or tailored Bermuda-length shorts (no "short shorts", cutoffs or jeans). Galley Bay offers the following bars: Teepee Bar - Cone-shaped, thatched-roof bar located beachside. This is a favorite gathering place to sip sundowners and watch the sun slip into the Caribbean Sea. Hors d'oeuvre are served in the early evening around 6pm. Lounge Bar - After dinner aperitif and stay as long as you want. The perfect ending to a perfect day.
