Please note: This hotel is scheduled to become Viceroy Sugar Beach in fall 2012. Jalousie Plantation located on the quiet southwest coast of St. Lucia just 5 miles from the historic town of Soufriere. Nestled on a hillside in the shadow of the majestic Petit and Gros Piton Mountains, the resort offers stunning sunset views of Jalousie Bay. Jalousie was once the site of an 18th century Sugar Mill Estate, the remains of the original mill have now been integrated into the resort. The property, one of the most dramatic in the Caribbean, dips down to a 1/4 mile stretch of secluded white sand beach. Spread over 325 lush acres of tropical forest, the resort is unsurpassed for its natural beauty and is resplendent with native fruit trees, including mango, banana, papaya, coconut, avocado, star fruit, sour sop and hog plum. Room amenities include individually controlled air conditioning, ceiling fans, mini-bar, coffee maker, bathrobes, electronic safe, AM/FM clock radio, direct dial telephone with data port, TV with satellite reception and VCR. All bathrooms have bidets, hairdryers and makeup mirrors. Children Policy: No room charge for children staying in the same room with their parent(s). Villa - Scattered on the tropical hillside all offer spectacular views of the Piton Mountains and Jalousie Bay with a patio area. Most have a king size bed and all have sleeper sofas. Maximum Occupancy: 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. Sugar Mill Room - Expansive bedroom with king bed, spacious bathroom and dressing room, sitting area and a private outdoor sun terrace. Rooms are close to the main building, pool, beach and restaurant. Maximum Occupancy: 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. Villa (Mountainview and Oceanview) - Scattered on the tropical hillside, all offer spectacular views of the Piton Mountains and Jalousie Bay, patio area and a private plunge pool. The Jalousie Plantation offers the following restaurants: Verandah Restaurant - Located in the Great House, serving a full American breakfast buffet, daily 7am-10:30am. Bayside Bar & Grill - Located at the pool and beach, serving hot and cold buffet lunch plus an a la carte menu featuring sandwiches, burgers, and sumptuous steaks. Lunch served 12pm-5pm, bar service available 10:30am-6:30pm. Friday night a barbecue dinner is served to the Caribbean sounds of a steel band, and live local entertainment. Pier Restaurant - Located at the Jalousie Marina. Live entertainment Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays showcasing local bands will complement a creative seafood and Creole menu. Plantation Restaurant - Located in the Great House, elegant dining featuring Mediterranean fused with Far Eastern cuisine. After sunset The Plantation Room asks gentleman to wear shirts with collars or buttoned shirts, and full length trousers (jackets are optional). Ladies are asked to wear cocktail dresses or skirts, no shorts please.
