This lively town sits in the "garden parish" of Jamaica's north coast -- so called due to the area's fertile soil. It is home to one of the island's most famous attractions, the cascading, 600-foot Dunn's River Falls. Just south of Ocho Rios is Fern Gully, where visitors can follow a three-mile drive through a cool, green tunnel of 30-foot-tall fern trees. Sugarcane, coffee and bananas have been harvested since the 18th century at Prospect Plantation, which offers tours and horseback riding. Harmony Hall is a restored Victorian mansion with a gallery that sells local arts and crafts.
