Wedding Requirements

Following is a summary of the requirements that US citizens must meet in order to be married in the Caribbean countries. Please note that legal requirements can change so be sure to double check the requirements before finalizing your booking.

Antigua $240 None No Valid passport. Proof of divorce or death certificate if applicable.
Aruba None All documents listed are to be faxed for review and then submitted by mail at least one (1) month prior to desired wedding date. No Certified copies of birth certificate. Valid state issued picture I.D. or passport. Minimum 2 witnesses (18+ years) with passport picture page or valid state issued picture I.D. Witnesses can be provided locally at $50 each. Certificate of no impediment (also referred to as a single status report or a negative statement of marriage). Proof of divorce or death certificate if applicable.
Bahamas $100 24 hours No Declarations certifying both parties are unmarried U.S. citizens sworn before a U.S. Consul at the American Embassy, Nassau, or marriage license obtained from Commissioner's Office for weddings on any Bahamas island outside of New Providence. Both parties must apply in person for the marriage license. Proof of arrival in the Bahamas. Passport or birth certificate and photo ID. Proof of divorce or death certificate, if applicable. Wedding certificates must be obtained from the Commissioner's office (open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. )
Barbados $175 None No Passports required. Proof of divorce or death if applicable. Parental consent for parties under 18 years of age. All documents not in English must be accompanied by a certified translation.
Curacao $167 3 days from arrival (must report to Registry Office), with written registration at least 2 months in advance. No. Submit Birth Certificate (not older than 6 months). Valid passport. Evidence that you are single (not older than 6 months). Proof of divorce or death, if applicable (not older than 6 months).
Dominican Republic $20 None No U.S. citizens are required to write to the American Consulate in Santo Domingo in advance of intended wedding date requesting permission to marry (civil ceremony). Passports for the couple and for any foreign witnesses. Birth certificate. Proof of divorce or death certificate, if applicable. Parties must be at least 18 years of age. Notarized letter from an attorney legalized by their embassy stating that each person is single. All documents must be translated in Spanish upon arrival.
Grand Cayman $200 None No. Passport or certified birth certificate. Proof of divorce or certified copy of death certificate, if applicable. Immigration pink slip showing legal entry into the Cayman Islands. Parental consent for all parties under 18. Letter from authorized Marriage Officer Non-residents must obtain a marriage license from the Chief Secretary's Office. Two witnesses present at the ceremony.
Grenada $10 3 days No Valid passports and birth certificates. Proof of divorce or certified copy of death certificate, if applicable. Proof of Single Status: an affadavit, or a letter from a clergyman, lawyer, or Registry on official letterhead attesting to the fact that the parties involved have not been married previously. Proof of name change, if necessary. Parental consent for all parties under 21. All papers must be in English. If the original papers are in another language, they should be translated into English and certified.
Jamaica $54 1 day No Certified copy of birth certificate, which includes father's name. Proof of divorce or certified copy of death certificate, if applicable. Documented parental consent if either party is under 18 years.
Mexico $200 2 days Yes Passport and birth certificate. A copy of tourist card or visa. Proof of divorce or death certificate, if applicable. Citizens under 18 years of age need parent or guardian's consent. If parents cannot attend ceremony, they must grant power of attorney to someone to attend the ceremony. Names, addresses, ages, nationalities and tourist card numbers of 4 witnesses (Note: some cities require Mexican witnesses). These requirements vary by state.
Puerto Rico -NA- None. Yes U.S. driver's license, or passport if not a U.S. citizen. Notarized declaration of single status if not a U.S. citizen or resident. Both the bride and groom must appear in person at the time of applying. Proof of divorce or death certificate, if applicable. Parental consent for all parties under 18 (under 16 not allowed).
St. Kitts $20 - If resident for 16 days or more. $80 - If resident for two days. 2 working days (not including Saturday and Sunday) No Canadian and American citizens: birth certificate with photo ID or citizenship card. All other citizens: valid passport. Proof of divorce or death certificate, if applicable. If Catholic, priest to perform ceremony and letter from home priest stating couple is unmarried is needed. If Anglican or other, minister of religion to perform ceremony and letter stating couple is known and unmarried is needed. Documents not in English must be translated and notarized. If under 18 years of age, notarized letter indicating parental consent required.
St. Lucia Approx. $198 Two (2) days residency, plus two (2) days for license. No Change of name documents. Proof of divorce or death certificate, if applicable. Affidavit of one of the parties. Birth certificate or passport.
Turks & Caicos $50 24 hours to apply, 2-3 days to marry. No Proof of divorce or death certificate, if applicable. Birth certificate and photo ID or valid passport. Most churches require proof of membership. If over 18 but under 21, one or both parents must give consent.
