This popular resort town on Jamaica's northwest coast is cradled between the sea and the hills. Shoppers head to Harbour Street, where a crafts market features batik, woodcarvings and straw items, while nearby duty-free shops are well-stocked with perfume, china, crystal, cigars and more. Nestled in the countryside outside town are grand plantation homes, the most famous of which is Rose Hall, said to be haunted by the ghost of the notorious Annie Palmer. For a taste of adventure, take a rafting trip down the Great River. In August, Montego Bay hosts the annual Reggae Sumfest.
