Napa Valley
A wine connoisseur’s dream, Napa Valley is home to more than 200 wineries and joins the ranks of Italy and France as a top wine region in the world. Enjoy some Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon at a large-scale winery such as Charles Krug Winery, one of the oldest existing wineries in the county. Or, taste some finely grown Merlot and Chardonnay at a boutique winery like Colgin Cellars. Visitors can rent bikes at local shops to pedal between vineyards, or ride the Napa Valley Wine Train for a relaxing viewing experience with elegant dining choices from three different themed rail cars. Although wine is the main attraction, Napa Valley is also blooming with many rare wildflowers including the Tiburon Indian paintbrush and Contra Costa goldfields. The natural beauty of this California county and its close proximity to San Francisco, Sacramento, and Oakland, make Napa Valley the second most popular tourist destination in California, next to Disneyland.
