All-inclusive resorts are a great option for those seeking sun and sand, so this week I'd like to tell you about some upscale all-inclusive resort brands. These companies operate resorts that are rated 5 stars and up and are located in beautiful beachfront locales. One rate covers your room, meals, snacks and beverages, as well as some activities, entertainment and nonmotorized water sports.

TRS Hotels provides an intimate, no-kids ambience in beachfront locales where you can enjoy 24-hour in-room dining, butler service and a luxurious spa experience. The 5-star resorts of sister brand Palladium welcome guests of all ages, providing children's clubs, multiple restaurants and day-to-night activities. Both brands have properties in Mexico and the Caribbean.

Three JOIA by Iberostar properties cater to vacationers seeking a no-kids setting and offer all-suite accommodations and gourmet dining. Butler service is available in select suite categories.

Most properties from The Palace Company boast ratings of 5 to 5.5 stars. These beachfront escapes are primarily located in or near Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Los Cabos in Mexico; there also is a Jamaica location. Sun Palace in Cancun and Le Blanc hotels in Cancun and Los Cabos are designed as no-kids environments; rooms here have a beverage station and a double Jacuzzi or pedestal tub.

There are several all-inclusive Hyatt resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean. They include the no-kids Hyatt Zilara properties and the all-ages Hyatt Ziva brand and have a variety of restaurants, lounges and planned activities.

The Inclusive Collection from Hyatt features several other brands. Dreams properties are family-friendly getaways, while Secrets provides no-kids havens with 24-hour concierge and room service and gourmet restaurants where reservations are never required. Zoetry resorts are centered on wellness, with rejuvenating spa treatments and healthy cuisine.

The 5-star Riu Palace resorts are the top-of-the-line properties for the Riu brand. They're located in Mexico, the Caribbean and Costa Rica. You'll find spas, swim-up bars, water sports and multiple dining options.

Hard Rock Hotels brings its unique brand of entertainment and hospitality to its beachfront tropical resorts. They welcome guests of all ages, but the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya has a no-kids section called Heaven, with separate pools and a beach.

Several Barcelo properties have 5-star ratings; you'll find alluring beaches, multiple pools and an array of restaurants (including Italian, Japanese, Spanish and French options). The 5.5-star, no-kids Royal Hideaway Playacar in Mexico's Riviera Maya also is part of Barcelo Hotel Group; it has a variety of restaurants from casual to elegant, a dinner theater, a spa and six pools.

Operated by Melia Hotels International, Paradisus resorts can be found in Mexico and the Caribbean. These elegant hotels feature all-suite accommodations, and some rooms include butler service and additional amenities.

Deluxe Royalton retreats, including their no-kids Hideaway and CHIC options, are located in destinations like St. Lucia, Antigua and Mexico. These properties feature sophisticated accommodations, personalized service and many restaurants and lounges.

From the Sandos brand, Sandos Cancun is located in the area's popular hotel zone. Amenities include three infinity pools and hanging beach beds under cabanas.

Sandals caters to couples in alluring locales like Jamaica, St. Lucia, Barbados and the Bahamas. Their draws include pristine beaches, championship golf courses and included scuba diving excursions.

The Beaches resorts in Jamaica and Turks and Caicos are great options for families. Younger guests can participate in supervised, age-appropriate programs at the Kids Camp, and older kids can try out the Xbox Play Lounge or Club Liquid night spot.
