Soberania National Park
This tropical rain forest is located close to the banks of the Panama Canal and just 20 minutes away from Panama City. Soberania National Park is a bird-watcher’s paradise where one can view as many as 525 different species of birds in a day on trails like El Charco, Camino del Oleoducto and Camino de la Plantación. Panama’s history is also reflected in such trails as the Camino de Cruces Trail, which in the colonial days was used to transport gold and silver from Peru to the famous fairs that took place in Portobelo, near Colon.
